Delicious! The pancakes are delicious. The service is always friendly and welcoming. You feel like at home. We got eggs (you can have it any style), bacon and pancakes. There’s a lot to choose from their menu. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Parking is easy.
Warm welcoming in, friendly staff, and absolutely tasteful and delicious food. I got the Big Bear Country Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and white gravy, broccoli, cup of chili and a fresh-hot muffin! My food was perfectly prepared and was worth every penny! Come check it out!!
Our family comes here for breakfast every time we visit. The portions are incredible, and the prices are reasonable. We walked in about 8:30am. With 6 ppl in our group, we got seated right away.

If I ever need a great American diner food reset, Black Bear Diner always comes to mind. When I need a big healthy serving of eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes… look no further! BBD always delivers! After a long camping trip, my brother brought my wife and me out to BBD. We ordered the Bacon strip breakfast and my brother ordered the country fried chicken breakfast. We were seated quickly, served water as we sat and ordered our food immediately, no more than 5-8 minutes our food came out. Pancakes always served fluffy, perfect over easy eggs, generous amount of crispy on the outside potato soft hash browns on the inside. The bacon was what you expect when you’re wanting a thick cut! Finished off our breakfast with the sweet and savory pumpkin pancakes with syrup! We left with a big smile on our face! Thank you BBD Milpitas!
It was cracking for breakfast! Our waitress was the sweetest thing ever, even before 8AM. My coffee cup was always full, the yummy food came out fast, and they let us chill after we were finished eating for almost an hour talking. Very cool. Will be returning!
Still one of my favorite diner, big portions and quality food. The food ain't anything special, you can find similar menu at any diner across the bay, but for the price black bear gives the best quality and quantity. I'm a bigger guy and I appreciate their effort keeping the plates big, the salads are especially huge. They have lots of lunch and dinner options as well, steak burgers etc. Highly recommend.

Overview: Our favorite breakfast go to in the Milpitas area, Black Bear diner serves delicious country themed dishes with a comfy atmosphere and great service. I also love that the menu is a newspaper, a nice little touch. Location/Facility: Lot's of parking and plenty of seating for large groups or booths for parties of 2. Do take note, it gets really busy here on weekends so my wife and I usually like going on weekdays were we are both off from work. Verdict: Great place to try and lots of items on the menu for everyone. Nice place to have an early morning coffee and delicious food. My favorite is the country fried steak!
I arrived a little early for a site visit for a utility project. Needed some eggs to start the day. Right off the freeway was a BBD! Pulled in w/20 additional minutes to before I needed to be on-site, including the 10 minutes to get there. Asked Ms. Sandra R if she could get me outta there in 20 mins or less, and she said yes. Ordered 3 eggs over medium, 4 pieces of bacon and 4 pcs of sour dough toast. Food literally came 2 minutes after the coffee. Yes, it was that quick. However, the eggs were scrambled but, they were freshly cooked, and I didn't have time to dilly-dally. Plus, if scrambled eggs is the worst that happens to me today, it'll be a great day.
